A NOTE ABOUT HOW TEAMS ARE FORMED IN THE RECREATION LEAGUE:

Each season we turn lists of approximately 1100 Children into approximately 80 teams.
We only work from the web site when creating teams.
You need to make teammate requests on line, NOT through emails.

We never consider player's coach requests.
We make sure that teams have a balanced number of players from each grade where applicable.
We make sure that teams have a balanced number of players of each gender where applicable.
We make sure no one team is comprised of all travel players.
We do not keep entire teams together from one year to the next, but may keep them together from fall to spring if possible.

You can't possibly imagine how impossible it would be to sit with hundreds of emails trying to sort out car pools for 1100 children via emails.
Many children often play on teams with no, or only one friend when they start the season.  It is good for them.  It encourages new connections and allows them to make new friends.  When you sign children up for swim class, track, day camp, art class, dance class, music lessons, lacrosse, or basketball, they make new friends.  We believe that MUSC has found a great balance.
If two children sign up before teams are formed in the fall, and they want to be together, we try to make it happen.  After that, we believe we are helping them to make new connections in the community and grow as confident individuals.

We hope this helps you understand our guidelines and process for team formations.
